Job Description: Baby Caregiver
Position Title: Baby Caregiver
Department: Nursery
Reporting Location: No. 117 Baillou Hill Rd & Flemming Street
Reports To: Preschool Director
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $1,500.00

Role Summary
The Baby Caregiver is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for infants aged 3 to 24 months. This role involves meeting the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of infants through feeding, diaper changing, playtime, and monitoring. The ideal candidate will have a caring disposition, strong attention to detail, and the ability to create a stimulating and safe environment for babies.

Key Responsibilities

Infant Care: Feed, change diapers, and dress infants as needed. Ensure a clean and hygienic environment at all times.

Safety and Supervision: Maintain constant supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of the babies. Follow safety protocols and guidelines.

Developmental Activities: Engage infants in age-appropriate activities that stimulate their senses and support their cognitive, emotional, and physical development.

Communication with Parents: Regularly update parents about their child's activities, feeding times, sleeping patterns, and other relevant information. Address any concerns or questions from parents in a timely manner.

Sleep Management: Assist infants with nap times, ensuring a calm and soothing atmosphere. Follow prescribed sleep schedules.

Health and Wellness: Monitor infants for any signs of illness or discomfort and report any concerns to the Childcare Supervisor. Administer medication if authorized by parents and approved by the supervisor.

Team Collaboration: Work with other caregivers to ensure a harmonious and cooperative environment. Share information and collaborate on activities and caregiving strategies.

Clean your classroom: Each teacher / care taker is required to take out the trash, sanitize desks, cribs and any other furniture in their area and mop their classroom / area before leaving each day.

Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of feeding times, nap schedules, diaper changes, and any incidents that occur during the caregiving period.

Qualifications and Skills

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in early childhood education or childcare is a plus.

Experience: Previous experience caring for infants, either professionally or personally.

Communication: Strong verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with parents and other caregivers.

Patience and Empathy: A caring and patient approach when dealing with infants. Understanding and empathetic towards the needs of babies and their parents.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain a clean and organized environment.

Safety Awareness: Knowledge of infant safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Additional Requirements

Ability to pass a background/security check.

First aid/CPR certification for infants or willingness to obtain certification.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings and evenings.

Ability to lift and carry infants safely.
