Most schools begin teaching children the fundamentals of business well into their late teens, just before entering college after the child has already established a pattern of behavior and practices that will forge their adulthood. Here at Bluebrook Academy, we believe this to be a little too late, in fact, we believe that at the time your child begins to form genuine habits and culture is when they should begin to learn to save, learn the discipline of responsible and necessary spending, to become financially aware and to make sound financial decisions. More importantly, at this age, they begin to form social habits, how to interact with their peers, to eliminate selfishness and work together, to accept failures as a part of growth and so on. It is here, within our KINDERGARTEN environment, where our little ones continue their journey of Entrepreneurship here at Bluebrook Academy. Within our Pre-Kindergarten Deck (their previous environment), your child would have charted their entrepreneurial journey with their first shared business model, The Ice-Cream Parlor. They would have begun learning the differences between The Seller, The Buyer and tools needed to run a small business like supplies, signage and branding. Here in Kindergarten, their Ice Cream Parlor becomes a bit more real with Roleplay and physical Greyford money being introduced within the classroom setting. The will have physical cash in hand to purchase and sell Ice-Cream. They will also accelerate their understanding of how to grab the customers attention through micro concepts of marketing and advertising as well as designing a logo, signage and branding.

Here in our Kindergarten environment, your child enjoys one good nap per day.
We spend most of our day learning academic fundamentals like Math, English, My Bahamas, which is a Social Studies component, Bible with sound Christian principles and Sciences where we take our kids outdoors to explore the world first hand instead of from a book. In Pre- Kindergarten, your child would have been introduced to the prospect of using their senses alone to navigate the world, blind folded and taken on a wild adventure of textures from hard to soft and all the stops in-between. Here, your child will learn acute penmanship and form habits of reading and chores. Here is a snapshot of what you can expect during a full day in our Bluebrook Academy Kindergarten environment.
We do have a recreational area however where education videos are played during eating and social times. We understand that you worry while at work because we are parents too! It's inevitable but we try our best to lessen your worry by sending you a few pictures every now and then of their day for the first 30 days so that you both become comfortable with the Greyford experience and you are a bit more settled at work.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
WHILE YOUR CHILD IS ENROLLED IN OUR KINDERGARTEN ENVIRONMENT:
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Your child will begin to grasp heavily the concept of making decisions.
The words I don't know will no longer be allowed in their school environment.
Your child's understanding of business essentials as well as The Buyer and Seller concepts will deepen through real life scenarios and roleplay within the classroom.
Your child's Ice Cream Parlor, introduced to them within our Pre- Kindergarten environment will continue here and will be reinforced with real inter-school cash.
They will reinforce their branding and color schemes for their business, and accelerate their branding.
They will learn what content is needed to create a great sign for the promotion of their business.
They will learn how to capture and maintain their audiences attention.
With real interschool cash, they will be rewarded for great grades, and use their cash to purchase essential needs within their school environment such as desks and pencils when they lose them. A program that will excite even the parents.
MEMORYONICS
Shuffling a variety of items under guise, your child is asked to select where the object is, sharpening their concentration and observation skills. Your child is constantly tested on things relevant to them specifically such as their age, name, where they live etc.
SENSORY DEVELOPMENT
Using real textures like sand, rock, liquids etc, your child is blind folded
and encouraged to guess the texture through feeling only.
LEADERSHIP & CONFIDENCE DEVELOPMENT
Your child has an opportunity to teach (guided by the teacher) on a subject they have clearly mastered by review of their grades in that area. The teacher joins the audience in this instance to ensure the child feels to have full control. This and other tactics force sound leadership and confidence.
NUMERACY DEVELOPMENT | MATHEMATICS
Your child learns to identify the numbers 0 - 50
Your child learns to count from 0 - 50
Your child will begin basic addition problems

Your kid will be able to follow multi step directions like first, next, under, over, around etc.
COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT | ENGLISH
Your little one will be able to match shapes and colors.
They will be able to name shapes
He or she will be able to copy or draw symmetrical shapes.
They will learn sight words and will begin writing and identifying them within their daily lives.
CHAPEL TIME & DEVOTIONS
During our daily Chapel Time, your child will sing songs and will give praise to Jesus Christ in chorus with their peers.
They will learn memory verses and will roleplay stories of Jesus.
ETIQUITTE CHAMBER
Here your child learns proper etiquette, sitting properly, eating properly, yes ma'am, no sir, may I, pardon me etc.
HYGIENE
As a class, we demonstrate proper practices from a child rises out of bed to when they lay their head. Teeth brushing, Deodorant (although not currently needed) tucking clothing in, bathing daily etc.
PENMANSHIP BAY
Here your child learns to perfect their penmanship in those letters that they have already internalized and are now learning.
DICTION BAY
Here your child learns acute pronunciation of the words they currently know and are learning at this time.
MY BAHAMAS
Known culturally as Social Studies, your child learns basic details about their country and its leadership positions and faces.
They learn about items indigenous to The Bahamas and those things that make The Bahamas unique.
SCIENCE
In this area your child learns and hands one interaction with gasses, liquid and solids.
During our science sessions, we provide explorative lessons where your child, accompanied by their teacher examines the outdoors, animals, plants etc.
