Salary Range: $2,000.00

Role Summary

The Classroom Teacher for preschool-aged children is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for children between the ages of 3 and 5. This role involves developing age-appropriate lesson plans, engaging in hands-on activities, and fostering a positive classroom atmosphere. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, strong communication skills, and a nurturing approach to teaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that support the development of early childhood skills, including literacy, numeracy, and social skills.

  • Classroom Management: Maintain a structured yet flexible classroom environment that encourages learning and creativity. Manage classroom behavior and promote positive interactions among students.

  • Parental Communication: Regularly communicate with parents about their child's progress, upcoming events, and other classroom-related information. Schedule and conduct parent-teacher conferences as needed.

  • Assessment and Documentation: Monitor and document children's growth and development. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and other relevant data.

  • Classroom Safety: Ensure a safe and secure classroom environment. Follow health and safety guidelines and implement emergency procedures as required.

  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational environment. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning of school events and activities.

  • Professional Development: Stay updated with best practices in early childhood education. Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance teaching skills.

  • Clean your classroom: Each teacher / care taker is required to take out the trash, sanitize desks, cribs and any other furniture in their area and mop their classroom / area before leaving each day.

  • Assessment and Documentation: Monitor and document children's growth and development. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and other relevant data.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field is preferred. Teaching certification is a plus.

  • Experience: Previous experience teaching or working with young children in a preschool or early childhood education setting is required.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with parents, children, and colleagues.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a classroom setting.

  • Interpersonal Skills: A nurturing and empathetic approach towards children. Ability to foster positive relationships and work collaboratively with others.

  • Creativity and Adaptability: Ability to create engaging lesson plans and adapt to the changing needs of young children.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to pass a background / security check

  • Ability to obtain relevant certifications as required by local regulatory bodies.

  • Flexibility to work extended hours during peak times or special events.

  • Familiarity with early childhood education practices is a plus.
